This Aston Martin proves that exotics deserve wild colors

Owning an exotic car makes you stand out in just about any scenario. It’s an unavoidable side effect that comes with the territory. Some owners will slightly mitigate this by getting them in neutral colors, whether it be black, white, gray, or any variation of the three. Others will go all out, either by ordering them in crazy factory colors or wrapping them in something just as neck-breaking.

Rob picked the first option when he bought his 2019 Aston Martin Vantage. I like Rob.

“I wanted something unique and not run of the mill. I was looking at used DB9s but when I saw the new Vantage, the styling just drew me in.”

The color, aptly named Lime Essence, is Rob’s way of standing out in a car that’s as gorgeous as modern Astons get. In the one year he has owned the car, he’s added close to 7,000 miles on the odometer and reached a top speed of 167 mph. In Mexico, of course. With a 4.0 L twin-turbo V8 that puts out 503 hp and does 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds, that kind of hooning is both inevitable and expected.

“This is an amazing platform and driver’s car.”

And drive it he does! Not only does he frequently attend local cars and coffee-style events, but he’s a regular at rallies like the recent Insomnia Rally too.

The downside to being so bold in your choice of colors is that not everyone is a fan of it. You have to be prepared for snarky comments and disapproving looks from those who wouldn’t feel at home at any Porsche Rare Shades event.

“It’s been love or hate. I laugh at some of the faces or comments.”

To round it all off, let’s talk mods. A car like this doesn’t need much to improve it since it is basically a four-wheeled embodiment of perfection, but Rob still tried his hand. He added a set of Signature 2-piece wheels, and a VelocityAP exhaust is on its way. Future mods include a stage two DME tune once the warranty expires. Smart move there. Thanks for bringing it out so often Rob! It’s always a pleasure to see.
